Missionary Moments

The missionaries have a great sense of humor, here are some of the funny moments we've heard of lately:

"I got tripple slammed! A person slammed the screen door in my face, then the house door which caused the screen door to fly open and slam again. It was awesome!"

"I think Elder X has food poisoning. We had dinner at a member's and didn't know until it was too late that we were having 'Stephanie Surprise.' Stephanie is nine and cooks a mean pork chop."

"When it was my first turn ever to knock on a door, I was so scared that for 30 or 40 minutes I stood in the driveway with my companion and refused to do it. The homeowners eventually called the police who told me to stand on the sidewalk next time."

Better Picture of the Sisters

Sister's Specialized Training

In our family room last Thursday, twenty Sister missionaries sang, "The best mission song I've ever heard!" according to Elder Lynn G. Robbins. According to moi, choirs of angels were pulling out their own hair because they couldn't compete with our Sisters. Before today we had only heard the song sung by the entire mission, with an abundance of Elders,so it can sound like an army marching into battle but when the Sisters sang it, it sounded as though all the good will in the world was swirling around the room and sweeping out to bless the earth. They are gifts and gifted.

Our Sister's specialized training was wonderful, day and night with presentations lead by the spirit and given by all. But the best part was just being together, cooking together, sharing hardships and triumphs, letting those emotions flow. For the one Sister who will be leaving soon, returning to Kirribati, she may never see these Sisters again, but she will always be bound by the feelings that were offered by tender hearts and testimonies from women who know.
